Warning signs of cyberbullying include:
Sudden changes in device usage (like quickly hiding the screen or entirely avoiding technology), becoming unexpectedly withdrawn from friends and family, and showing emotional distress (sadness, anger, or anxiety) during or immediately after going online, texting, or gaming. These red flags can manifest across several different aspects of a person's life.
Emotional & Psychological Indicators:
Mood swings: Exhibiting unusual frustration, anger, or impatience after receiving texts or checking social media.
Low Self-esteem: Passing comments about feeling worthless or lacking meaning in life.
Stress: Becoming jumpy, nervous, or highly anxious when a phone, tablet, or laptop receives a notification.
Extreme Reactions: Severe depression, self-harm, or suicidal ideation in worst-case scenarios.
Social & Behavioral Changes:
Device Avoidance: Abruptly closing a browser when someone walks by, or completely stopping the use of digital devices.
Secretiveness: Hiding screens or becoming fiercely defensive when asked about online activity or social accounts.
Social withdrawal: Losing interest in participating in previously enjoyed activities or avoiding gatherings with peers.
Physical symptoms: Trouble sleeping, experiencing frequent nightmares, or having a reduced appetite.
Academic Impacts: School refusal, frequently asking to stay home, or making repeated calls/texts from school requesting to go home ill.
Declining performance: Dropping grades, skipping class, or suddenly losing interest in schoolwork.

Watch out for these behaviors:
Rapidly switching screens or turning off monitors when you walk into the room. Creating or using multiple fake social media or forum accounts. Laughing excessively while sending texts or posting on apps, especially if they become highly protective of their online accounts. Showing unexpected aggression when confronted about online habits.
